Hours:  8:00 - 5:00 Monday thru Friday

As a Corporate Finance Manager, you will be part of PNC's corporate staff, working for a parent company with $139 billion in assets, named by BusinessWeek as one of its 2008 "Top 50 Performers" in any industry.  The Financial Manager III performs, manages and oversees research of accounting and reporting issues supporting all areas of PNC.  Works closely with PNC Finance Line of Business personnel in the review and analysis of significant, highly complex business transactions to determine the proper accounting and reporting for PNC.  Reviews and evaluates proposed and finalized accounting pronouncements to determine the potential impact on PNC and communicates results on a timely basis.  Communicates accounting policy and positions both verbally and in writing on an as needed basis with PNC senior management, the Finance Leadership Team, external and internal auditors, and banking regulators.  Interacts regularly and provides expertise and guidance to the SEC and Regulatory reporting functions.  Keeps abreast of internal and external developments that could impact PNC accounting and reporting practices objectives and participates in the drafting of formal comments to the FASB and SEC as appropriate.  Leads in the maintenance of PNC's Accounting Policy Manual and accounting checklists as part of PNC Finance's Sarbanes/Oxley certification process.  Communicates current issues related to areas of responsibility to senior management through periodic education sessions.  Communicates corporate information as a Network Leader, if applicable.  Continually evaluates departmental processes and recommends process improvements to higher-level management.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required. 

  • CPA or CMA Certification and/or MBA or MPA graduate degree preferred. 

  • Nine to twelve years of relevant experience, including five to seven years of financial management experience preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm. 

  • Thorough knowledge and expertise in financial accounting and SEC reporting is required with a preference for experience in the financial services industry. 

  • A good working knowledge of regulatory and managerial accounting and reporting is also necessary.
