The SCM is also responsible for partnering with our Product Management team to develop a strategy for best-in-class functionality. This position reports directly to the DMM for Online Merchandising. Ideal candidate will:
Direct customer centric strategies and execution for the Gifting, Clearance and associated categories (Giftcards, etc). Serving like a General Manager, the candidate will influence and develop relationships with B&M and online merchants to ensure Sears.com has best-in-class Gifting and Clearance strategies. In addition, the candidate will work with the Online Product Management team to plan and develop key features and functionality to drive sales and customer engagement metrics.
Have the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization that includes B&M Merchandising, Online Marketing and Promotions, Product Management and others
Have deep knowledge of the ecommerce space including competitive strategies, marketing strategies, product development strategies, usability best practices industry trends, consumer trends and sales strategies
Have the ability to influence, interact and communicate to upper level management
Demonstrate leadership skills, build teams, and motivate associates
Communicate and keep upper management informed regarding business performance and trends
Demonstrate financial acumen and strong decision making skills
Think in a data driven way with the ability to scale strategies through technological capabilities
Negotiate and solve conflict
Qualifications
Responsibilities include:
Sales and engagement goals across the Gifting and Clearance categories
Development of customer centric selling and marketing strategies
Optimization of existing functionality and influence over the creation and prioritization of new functionality
Leadership, relationship building, strategic guidance, and the removal of barriers
High level seasonal planning and the evolution of execution tactics
Experience required
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university required; MBA preferred
4 - 6 years related online Category Management, Marketing, and Product Management experience
Must have strong affinity for internet/multi-channel retailing and work well in large team matrix organizations
