Well-versed and experienced in web-based development technologies (mainframe technologies a plus); able to provide technical as well as solution-oriented guidance for junior team members in support of large-scale and mission-critical application portfolio.
Qualifications
Essential Functions
The ideal candidate will:
1. Perform complex system analysis and translate potentially unspecified or vague business requirements into superb technical solutions
2. Communicate with other application areas and third-party vendors to define, design, develop, and implement cross application data interfaces
3. Apply industry best practices and corporate standards to build, maintain, and enhance application software
4. Learn and help resolve issues with large scale, multi-platform, mission critical business applications
5. Provide off-hours on-call support to ensure systems function as designed
6. Conduct large system tests, unit tests, integration tests, and code walkthroughs
7. Apply technical principles that enhance operational effectiveness
8. Create documentation for ongoing enhancements to the application
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
9. A Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, specialized computer systems training or equivalent
10. A motivated self-starter who will actively seek out solutions and answers to questions on their own
11. Experience developing & maintaining complex Web-based, n-tiered applications
12. Experience in conducting system tests, coordinating system integration testing with other teams
13. Experience with high volume transactional systems
14. Strong experience in all phases of system lifecycle development
15. Excellent communication skills - Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
16. Provide on-call support for production systems
17. Experience with retail pricing systems a plus
TECHNICAL SKILLS
18. Java/J2EE/Websphere/JSP/JDBC/JNDI/Web Services/Struts/Spring/Hibernate/Ajax/JavaScript/etc..
19. MicroStrategy, DataStage and other ETL / reporting tools
20. Strong SQL and database design experience in relational databases (DB2/Teradata/MySQL)
21. Familiar with mathematical and/or statistical models
22. Analyze results of complex mathematical and statistical algorithms, participate in building statistically-based business models
