Job Description

Hours:  8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

PNC has an excellent opportunity within its Corporate Communications Business Segment for an individual to help build a positive external image and reputation for PNC through effective communication to key external audiences and support the success of the corporation and assist in the advancement of PNC's business objectives.

 

The individual selected will develop and implement media strategies and activities to support the corporation and business units, communicate key corporate messages, and recognize the corporation's community involvement.  Plan and implement the corporation's external response to business issues and media questions, and serve as PNC spokesperson as required.

 

Develop relationships and place stories with national, local, and trade reporters as appropriate. Support the proactive Corporate Communications media agenda through the planning and execution of media relations programs.  Support executives and business managers on external communication projects and issues ' make recommendations that advance the objectives and values of the corporation and Report and measure the effectiveness of programs that are executed.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, communications or related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of corporate communications experience required. Banking/financial experience preferred.

  • Social/digital media expertise preferred.

  • Agency experience a plus.

  • Ability to provide an appropriate and accurate counsel and advice to superiors/senior executives and to translate key strategic business or financial issues into messaging and storylines that resonates with media gatekeepers.

  • Proven ability to build relationships with print and broadcast journalists.

  • Strong written, verbal and media communications skills.

  • Strong track record of media placement.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Firm grasp of current affairs.

  • Experience with online and technology-related communications vehicles.
