Co-Op (Computer Science Major -Junior)

About this role:
This Co-Op position will assist Quality Assurance Testers with the development and execution of test scripts to ensure system requirements are met, with some guidance. They will assist in identifying problems, generate alternatives, and recommend solutions within defined processes. This position documents the progress of assigned tasks to ensure objectives are met. They will collaborate effectively with QA team members, application developers, software vendors, consultants, user communities, and test environment technical support staff in the execution of testing procedures. This position supports testing efforts of small to medium complexity.
Executes tests and compares results with provided requirements. Ensures the application(s)run as expected and produce the expected results. Executes and validates test set-up to ensure the environment is ready for testing. Documents test results and communicates them to others (e.g., management, development teams, business users, etc.). Verifies defects are fixed. Assists in designing and modifying test ware (e.g., test scenarios, scripts, etc.) of small to medium level complexity to ensure test coverage for assigned responsibilities. Assists in analyzing requirements and system processes of low complexity to ensure complete test coverage and requirement testability. Consults/collaborates with QA Testers, business analysts, business users, and development stakeholders to gather data for test coverage and to resolve issue. Contributes to test planning. Provides status updates and ensures that test schedules and reporting metrics are updated and accurate. A self-starter who is task driven with good communication and organization skills. The candidate should also have a strong technical aptitude and ability to learn quickly.
Must be able to work 15 - 20 hours per week while school is in session. Potentially work 40 hours per week during the summer months.

The desired Co-Op will be currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program pursuing a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline, or has graduated from a degreed college/university program within that last 24 months with a degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline.
