FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS DIRECTOR
Job Title: Financial Planning & Analysis Director
Department: Finance
Reports To: Executive Vice-President/Chief Financial Officer
Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support the enterprises and forecasting, budgeting process with the financial planning and analysis team. Responsible for the management of the day-to-day analysis functions of the gaming operation and resort, operational analysis and property analysis reporting. Ability to collaborate and work across property functional areas as well as lead a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversees multiple, simultaneous and advanced analytical projects that provide concise, accurate, actionable and strategic recommendations to department Directors and Executive Management for both gaming and non-gaming areas.
- Assist in identifying and executing on analysis opportunities and collaborates in data and analytics innovation within the enterprises.
- Leads the planning of the forecast and budgeting activities while fostering strong partnership with Finance.
- Focuses on automation and systematic reporting, utilization of advanced datamining/ warehouse techniques, ad-hoc analytics and the creation of metrics/financial reports and dashboards.
- Provides the Directors and Executive Management with analytical support and data collection upon request.
- Member of Daily Operating Report (DOR) rotation, including preparation & distribution of the weekday/weekend DOR.
- Prepares special event post analyses and executes weekly special event revenue updates.
- Maintains special event summary database.
- Responsible for the annual budgets and forecasting process and collaborate with the department Directors and Executive Management.
- Prepares and analyzes actual financial results with appropriate comparison to historical performance.
- Prepares reports that present prevailing trends and results; prepares recommendations to management where areas of potential improvement are noted.
- Understands and adheres to strict levels of confidentiality of financial and proprietary information.
- Extracts data from systems such as, Oracle, Agilisys, Kronos and business intelligence cube.
- Reviews data and ensures complete and accurate representation of relevant information.
- Provides data in a format normalized to current operations where possible, or alternatively provides commentary regarding differences due to business changes.
- Proactively learns the business across functional areas.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required, MBA preferred. Five years of management or supervisory responsibilities required. Ten years related professional planning and analysis experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software and Payroll systems. Experience working with business cubes strongly preferred.
Other Qualifications
- Practical knowledge of casino accounting operations.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance and must be able to work harmoniously with others.
- Must understand and maintain the rules of confidentiality and possess excellent organization skills.
Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
